Blackburn Rovers 1995 Premier League Champions Jack Walker Teletext Mug

Blackburn Rovers 1995 Premier League Champions Jack Walker Teletext Mug

Jack Walker was born in Blackburn and he bought his hometown club in 1991, investing millions of pounds from his personal fortune built up in the steel industry to transform its fortunes.

A victory in Blackburn's last home game of the 1994/95 season took them five points clear at the top of the table but when Manchester United beat Southampton 2-1 a couple of days later, the gap was down to just two points going into the final day.

Blackburn started well at Anfield taking the lead through Alan Shearer while United went 1-0 down at West Ham. But John Barnes equalised for Liverpool and Brian McClair levelled the game at Upton Park, leaving United just one goal away from retaining the title. Despite Blackburn conceding a second goal at the death, the Red Devils could not find a winner and Rovers claimed the crown for the first time since 1914, while Kenny Dalglish became only the third manager to win the title with two different clubs.

The classic-shaped, dishwasher-safe Cambridge mug looks great on any desk in any home, office, kitchen, workshop, studio, factory or garden.
